U.K. researchers to look at biofuel potential of tobacco tree

Researchers at the Royal Holloway, University of London, have received a grant from the EU to study the biofuel potential of the tobacco tree. The plant's ability to thrive in areas with low rainfall and excessive heat "is a crucial factor," said Paul Fraser, a research fellow at Royal Holloway's School of Biological Sciences. "It means that growing this crop will not be in competition for land space with food crops."
