ACA sign-ups on Dec. 1 and 2 are higher than in entire month of Oct., sources say

Approximately 29,000 people purchased health insurance through HealthCare.gov in the first two days of the month, a number higher than all of October's 26,000, sources said Wednesday. The website's visits reached more than 310,000 on Wednesday from midnight until noon, a more than 80% increase from last week's traffic. "I think the Affordable Care Act and especially the website problems have turned a corner in a very significant way," Families USA Executive Director Ron Pollack said. House Republicans focused Wednesday on the website's flawed launch and criticized President Barack Obama's push to improve public perceptions of the law.
