CMS rule allows specialists to set measures for quality reporting

Medicare is permitting specialist medical societies to identify a set of quality measures that their members will report when the Physician Quality Reporting System goes into effect on Jan. 1, 2014. The new CMS rule will generate more incentive for specialists to join the initiative, one physician noted.
