The Obama administration's proposed cuts to the renewable fuel mandate could be bad news for Archer Daniels Midland, one of the largest U.S. producers of corn-based ethanol, this article says. "Demand for ethanol could be something of a swing factor of the results that they report," said Tom Graves, equity analyst for S&P Capital IQ. However, ethanol demand may support production even if the proposal is finalized, ADM Chief Executive Patricia Woertz said.
