Wis. metal company lets students try out virtual welder

More than 100 students at a high school in Wisconsin tried out virtual welding technology when Schuette Metals in Rothschild brought a virtual welder to the school to give students hands-on experience using the device. "We feel we do a good job presenting the knowledge and skills required of a welding career, but then what this does is it promotes it as really a family-sustaining career that they can be looking forward to," high-school teacher Theran Peterson said.
