Programs develop mental health assessment tools

The need to assess outcomes for mental health patients is often difficult, given the subjective nature of mental health complaints. New tools, such as PacifiCare Behavioral Health's predictive modeling program and the National Committee for Quality Assurance's quality measures for mental health care, are available to help the clinician quantify and evaluate patients at high risk for suicide, chemical dependency or other complications.
