San Diego mat pour faces towering challenges

In pouring cement for a new 43-story high rise that will become the tallest residential tower in San Diego, contractors faced big challenges. The builders were working within the confines of a former electricity producing site for the city and had to pump within the 90-foot-high walls of the historic building's facade, and, due to city restrictions, they had to conduct the pour over the course of a single Saturday.
