Troubled auto, drug companies continue to advertise

Despite well-publicized bad news in the form of layoffs, plant closings and lawsuits, U.S. pharmaceutical and automotive manufacturers will continue to advertise. As Ray Warren, president of media agency Carat USA said: "To get out of a bad financial situation, you have to not only cut costs but also sell more goods. You have to show the consumer that you continue to be optimistic about your products."
