Retailers happy with holiday sales so far

Pittsburgh area merchants said they have been "pleasantly surprised" by a boost in holiday sales so far but are cautious about the rest of December. Shoppers seem to be looking for discounts, as evidenced by an NFIB survey that showed 54.7% of shoppers went to discount stores on the weekend after Thanksgiving while 38.7% visited specialty stores.
