Sarkozy announces plan to soften recession

Vowing "no bailout", French President Nicolas Sarkozy announced a stimulus equal to about 1.3% of France's GDP, intended to soften the impact of the economic downturn on France's economy. The programme will be a mix of investments in public infrastructure and a package of tax credits and rebates to businesses.
