SingTel, Cisco among Singapore network bidders

The Singapore government's proposal to build a broadband network across the city-state island has drawn four groups as bidders including Singapore Telecommunications and a consortium that includes Cisco Systems and Axia NetMedia, the government said today. Singapore's two smaller telecoms were the other entrants to build a network that will supposedly provide speeds of up to 1 gigabyte per second.
