Altered sugar molecule is a Trojan horse for cancer cells

Researchers found that delivering an altered sugar molecule to cancer cells makes them more susceptible to chemotherapy agents. The tactic works on many cancerous cells, including those affecting the blood and breast, and mouse studies showed quick tumor shrinkage in aggressive prostate cancer. Researchers are set to begin human trials soon.
