Many marketing chiefs are lost at sea when it comes to the Web-marketing revolution, according to an IBM survey. Of those polled, 71% said they struggled with the digital "data explosion," and 68% said they found it hard to adjust to social media changes. "Marketing was just easier in the past, there's no question," said Kellogg marketing professor Philip Kotler.
