NYC parents design app for tracking students on school buses

Two parents of New York City public-school students created a mobile app to help parents track their children as they load and unload school buses. The app, Safer Bus, would require bus drivers or volunteers to use an iPad to scan an identification card when students load and unload buses. Parents also could track the location of the buses using the iPad's built-in GPS feature.
