Shelton, Conn., schools are careful not to use "vegetarian"

Students in Shelton, Conn., are offered a meatless entree at lunch, but school officials are careful not to call it vegetarian for fear of scaring them away from trying it. Food-services Director Linda Stanisci says the "My Monday" menu focuses on nutrition and student choice, and data from Sodexo show about 55% of children eating a hot lunch choose that option.
