Sustainability isn't a zero-sum game for business

Recent studies show that companies don't necessarily have to choose between planet-friendly business practices and profitability, writes David Dornfeld, director of the Laboratory for Manufacturing and Sustainability at the University of California, Berkeley. "[T]here is not a trade-off between a sustainable business model or sustainable manufacturing and profit -- one can minimize the impact to the environment and maximize profit at the same time," Dornfeld writes.
