$163B worth of transmission projects underway, planned in U.S., Canada

Numerous factors are driving an increase in power-transmission projects, such as concerns about reliability, aging infrastructure, plant closures and new renewable-portfolio standards in several states, according to Kent Knutson, director of Hub Services for PennWell. Because of this, there are about $163 billion worth of transmission projects in the U.S. and Canada, according to TransmissionHub data.
