Fifth Third, SEC resolve complaint for $6.5 million

Fifth Third Bancorp said Wednesday that it will give the Securities and Exchange Commission $6.5 million to settle allegations that it violated disclosure protocols concerning commercial real estate during the financial meltdown. Specifically, the SEC said the lender classified the loans as "held for investment" when they should have been dubbed "held for sale."
