Food insecurity is part of obesity problem, dietitian says

Illinois dietitian Deborah Schuster was honored as an "Every Day Hero" by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation for her efforts to fight obesity. As part of the foundation's "Kids Eat Right" campaign, Schuster studied food insecurity and found that children who do not always have enough food can develop eating habits that lead to obesity. She used the information to raise awareness and make recommendations on how low-income families can eat healthier.
