Ingredion boosts processed cheese starch output to meet demand

Increased demand for cheaper cheese in emerging markets, such as the Middle East, North Africa and Eastern Europe, has inspired Ingredion Germany to boost production and development of its analogue and processed cheese starches, said Principal Dairy Application Technologist Corinna Faustmann. The market demand for such ingredients is still high in established markets, such as Europe, and presents the company with "a big opportunity ... all over the world," Faustmann said.
