Starbucks' Twitter program to buy friend coffee engages 27,000 users

More than 27,000 people have taken advantage of Starbucks' Tweet a Coffee program since it launched Oct. 28. Twitter users go through @Tweetacoffee to gift a drink. "Here's proof that direct-response [marketing] works on Twitter," said Saif Ajani, co-founder of Keyhole, which estimates Starbucks has generated a $180,000 return on investment.
