Zuckerberg, Gates combine efforts to improve schools' connectivity

Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates announced Wednesday their contribution -- through their respective foundations -- of $9 million to the EducationSuperHighway, a nonprofit dedicated to improving Internet connectivity in schools. "When schools and teachers have access to reliable Internet connections, students can discover new skills and ideas beyond the classroom," Zuckerberg said in a statement.
