Columnist: British schools don't have to choose between academics and sports

BBC News education correspondent Mike Baker says a new government proposal to double the weekly amount of time for sports in school is pitting health advocates worried about rising child obesity rates against educators under pressure to raise test scores. As a compromise solution, Baker proposes schools establish after-school clubs and teams run by paid teachers.
