Navy hopes to expand fleet

The Navy wants to expand its fleet of ships as part of a plan to defeat new enemies, Pentagon officials say. The Navy hopes to increase its fleet from the current 281 ships to 313 ships by 2020. Some officials question whether the plan is affordable. The Navy plans to ask shipyards to keep costs low.
