Health IT called driving factor in "patient-centered care"

"Patient-centered care" is emerging as an important measure of quality of care, and the concept's main driver is health care information technology, according to Commonwealth Fund president Karen Davis. Speaking at a briefing, Davis said the right tools need to be in place to make patient-centered care successful.
