FDA approves generic Norvasc from Caraco Pharma

Amlodipine, a generic version of Pfizer's blood pressure drug Norvasc, has been granted final FDA approval, Caraco Pharmaceutical Laboratories Ltd. said Wednesday. The decision allows Caraco to market 2.5-mg, 5-mg and 10-mg dosages of amlodipine besylate, which also treats chronic stable angina and vasospastic angina.
