Puppet troupe offers arts involvement for people with special needs

A puppet troupe in Virginia provides people with special needs an opportunity to participate in music and the arts, organizers say. Puppets Alamode features puppeteers who have learning and physical disabilities. "There aren't any musical or theatrical programs [solely] for kids with special needs," the group's founder said. "There's nothing where they can shine [creatively]. This gives them the opportunity to be the leaders. The stars."
