Supreme Court to weigh in on Cigna pension dispute

The U.S. Supreme Court will hear an appeal by Cigna of two lower courts' rulings in a case connected to the company's transition from a defined-benefits retirement plan to a cash-balance program. Cigna concedes that it misled workers about the benefits they'd receive under the pension program, but the company argues that it should only be required to pay additional benefits to workers who likely wouldn't have accepted the new plan had its benefits been explained more clearly.
