Companies need defined, long-term wellness plans, panel says

Employers should clearly define wellness and infuse it in the corporate culture, experts in health care, insurance and business told the North Bay Business Journal's Health Care Conference. Dr. David Sobel, medical director for Kaiser Permanente Northern California, said wellness is not "flavor of the month stuff" and instead of looking for short-term cost reductions, companies should focus on improved long-term health, productivity and morale, which will lead to lower insurance premiums.
