Group urges dialogue on food-related nano applications

The reputation of nanomaterials for food applications will suffer if the industry does not conduct public outreach, warns a committee of the U.K.'s Food Standards Agency. "Consumers have a responsibility to educate themselves and to understand the issues ... but also we must communicate the science and safety assessments of these technologies with them effectively," said Clare Mills, a committee member.
