Provider use of EHRs grows; AHA welcomes delay for MU incentives

A federal report says EHR use among physician practices has doubled since 2008. The report coincides with an HHS announcement that hospitals and doctors have until 2014 to adopt EHRs and qualify for meaningful use incentives, a move that the American Hospital Association says will help reinforce the program's ability to facilitate the health care overhaul and data exchange.
