Study: 17 million households have Net TVs; VOD revenues to double

NPD In-Stat reports that about 17 million households in the U.S. have Internet-connected television sets and that the number of streaming-media players owned by Americans has almost doubled in just one year. The market research firm forecasts that given this growing base of connected gadgets, video-on-demand revenues could double by 2015. One potential challenge is that only a small portion of consumers with Web-connected devices are using them on their TVs, according to In-Stat.
