Apple to invest $100 million in U.S. Mac production

Apple plans to begin making some of its Mac computers in the U.S. beginning next year, CEO Tim Cook said Thursday. Supplier Samsung already makes chips for iPads and iPhones in Texas, but Apple, like many other tech companies, outsourced production of its finished products to factories in China and other parts of Asia in the 1990s.
