Texas city council might allow golf course on landfill

The Dallas City Council is considering building a golf course on landfill property in partnership with AT&T and Southern Methodist University. An agreement could include making the course home to the university's golf teams and a city group that encourages play among those who don't normally have access to the sport; allowing charity tournaments, public play and youth programs 25% of the time; and getting the HP Byron Nelson Championship played there, instead of in Irving, Texas.
