Alberta to allow more microbreweries, distilleries

Canada's Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission has eliminated production capacity requirements for spirit makers, allowing local and craft brewers to start up without significant volume. Distilleries still have to meet food safety standards. "This means we don't have to build a monstrous, $2 million brewery to get started ... We can build a system that's appropriately sized for us," said Tool Shed Brewing Co-founder Graham Sherman.
