Deutsche Bank scales back commodity trading

Deutsche Bank is joining other major banks in reining in commodity trading amid investor withdrawal from commodity funds. The German lender is reducing its commodity-trading staff by about 200 and will exit dedicated dry-bulk, base-metal, agriculture and energy trading. Deutsche Bank also plans to transfer desks for precious metals and financial derivatives to its division for fixed income and currencies.
