EU Court Rules Chocolate Purists Wrong To Block Imports

Spain and Italy should not have halted imports of chocolate that contained non-cocoa fat, according to a European Union court adviser. The case against Spain and Italy was introduced before last year's decree that EU countries should allow up to 5% of tropical oils in chocolate. Both countries are among chocolate purists who join northern European countries that have tolerated non-cocoa oils in their chocolates for years.
