IOM report: A "watershed" moment for food marketing?

Yesterday's release of an Institute of Medicine report linking food ads to children's diets may be a pivotal event in the history of marketing, according to Advertising Age. Ad industry representatives say the IOM's recommended restrictions for advertising directed at children are unconstitutional, and some food industry groups faulted the report for failing to take into account their recent efforts to respond to parents' health concerns.
