Philly sets June 1 eviction for Boy Scouts chapter over anti-gay policy

The city of Philadelphia on June 1 plans to evict the Boy Scouts' Cradle of Liberty chapter from its rent-free, city-owned property after the group refused to change its policy prohibiting openly gay scouts and leaders, according to City Councilman Darrell L. Clarke. The Boy Scouts said it cannot afford the $200,000 annual rent it would have to pay to stay in the building and retain its anti-gay policy.
