Editorial: All facts needed to make Ares I decision

Congressional supporters of the Ares I rocket program, which would replace the space shuttle in delivering astronauts to space, are pushing ahead to gather support while President Barack Obama decides on the direction of the program. Experts testified before Congress last week about the safety of the NASA Ares rocket compared to the current space shuttle and a possible privatized astronaut "taxi" service. However, the rocket won't be ready to fly until at least 2017, and any decisions on the program should consider all of the data.
