October heavy construction starts climb 9.8%

Funding from the stimulus package has helped push up heavy construction starts 9.8% year-to-date from year-ago levels. However, observers note that some states have not experienced such sharp growth. They attribute disparities to differences in the amount of local work and how quickly stimulus funds were put to use. Delaware experienced the biggest gains, followed by Connecticut.
