Students speed up skis with nanotechnology

To allow students to incorporate nanotechnology into an application they could enjoy, a University of Nevada professor had students conceptualize, design and build their own sets of skis with the use of nanomaterials to improve the skis' performance. The students used nanocomposites instead of materials such as fiberglass to build skis that were stronger and lighter.
