CCHIT to test certification program for hospital-developed EHRs

The Certification Commission for Health IT's new program for certifying hospital-developed electronic health record systems is slated for initial testing at three facilities in New York, Boston and Naperville, Ill., this month. The EHR Alternative Certification for Hospitals program, designed to help facilities bridge any gaps between their accredited and unaccredited systems, will officially launch in January.
