Senate setback leaves energy tax credits in limbo

The Senate this weekend rejected legislation intended to extend renewable-energy tax credits, setting the stage for a further round of high-stakes negotiations this week. The credits, which clean-energy advocates say are essential to keep existing projects on track and encourage new investments, are scheduled to expire at the end of this month.
