Louisiana is set to implement value-added teacher ratings

The state school board in Louisiana has released details of its new teacher-evaluation standards, which will tie 50% of teacher ratings to students' academic growth as measured by standardized test scores. Under the value-added evaluations, set to be implemented statewide for the 2012-13 school year, teachers will be rated either highly effective, effective or ineffective.
