Startup SuVolta is said to cut chip power consumption 50%

In what is being called a significant breakthrough by some, startup firm SuVolta reportedly has demonstrated the ability to reduce power consumption in chips for wireless and other devices 50% without a drop in performance. Fujitsu Semiconductor is expected to announce that coupling other energy-saving techniques with SuVolta's new PowerShrink technology can slice a chip's power consumption up to 80%.
