Home sharing is a popular solution for aging in place

With about 9 in 10 older Americans expressing an interest in aging in place, home sharing is seeing a surge in interest. Since 2007, for instance, the University of Michigan's HomeShare program has seen a pickup of 15%, with a 10% increase in just the past year. "There's a much stronger push to help bring home sharing to the mainstream; hopefully, we'll see more programs pop up in the coming years," said Ryan Cowmeadow of the National Shared Housing Resource Center.
