Brazil's government has been taking pro-business steps in recent months, including tax breaks for manufacturers, reduced electricity tariffs and steps to improve transportation infrastructure. So far, though, investors haven't been keen to pour cash into Brazilian businesses. "The government's high-handed approach and hostile attitude towards the private sector seem to have put off the very investors it hoped to attract," The Economist notes.
