Lower Manhattan offices likely to stay empty for months

Much of the office space in Lower Manhattan is expected to remain vacant for months because of the unavailability of essential services. Under its current schedule, Verizon said it doesn't expect to complete repairs before May. Between 15 million and 18 million square feet of office space remains unusable after Superstorm Sandy.
