NASA extends operations of assets on Mars

NASA announced it will extend the mission of the Curiosity rover on Mars -- initially planned to last two years -- for as long as the spacecraft stays scientifically viable. Along with Curiosity, the agency will also keep other assets, including the Opportunity rover and the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, working on the Red Planet as long as possible.
